I Was Given the «Slave Release» Skill in An Undeveloped Land and Was Helped By The Girls I Freed: Chapter One

Translator’s Note: Probably will not pick this up but the chapter’s short n’ sweet and it’s pretty interesting once you get into it so I hope someone sees it and decides they want to pick it up. If you want me to TL a few more chapters send lots of love through comments and likes.

[Alex. You, who have no attack skill, are not suitable for our S-class party. Will you leave the party willingly or should we make you leave by force?]

The next morning after finishing the dungeon capture, I slept soundly in the inn.

Today I want to avoid hard requests and rest my body. When I tried to have breakfast while thinking about that, Roland, the party leader and my childhood friend, said something strange.

Do you have any attack still?

Naturally, I do not. I have a job called Paladin, a defensive expert.

My job is to hold back monsters and protect all the party members.

[Roland, you know my job is incapable of offense.]

While I do have some offensive capabilities, they were generally untested and I didn’t want Roland to start relying on them.

[A stupid paladin that moves slowly and can’t avoid monster attacks and can barely handle them head on. Besides, you are baggage that can’t attack monsters’ weaknesses flexibly because you have only holy attributes. ]

No, the paladin is also known as the Holy Knight, so it’s natural that the skill is biased toward the Holy attribute.

In the first place, a job is given on the fifteenth birthday, and you cannot choose it yourself.

That’s why I was a defensive expert, and when I was given the extremely rare Paladin job, I decided to protect Roland, who had his birthday earlier and was given the job of a rare hero.

With another childhood friend, Elise, who was given the job of a rare attack magic specialist called Ark Wizard.

[To be clear, you didn’t do anything yesterday? Why do we have to give you a share of the monsters we defeated !?]

[I’m the bait with a good defense, I’m attracting monsters, so you and Erie can safely attack.]

[You’re useless basically and we can avoid attacks even without you. Why did I ever let you into this party?]

 No, it’s impossible.

Certainly you, a “great” hero, will be able to avoid attacks aimed physically and only at you.

However, a wide range of attacks using magic and skills cannot be avoided.

Did you forget that I’m always taking over the damage for you all with Paladin’s superior defense skills! ??

[I tell you, all the members here except me have little to no defense that are too specialized in physical attacks, so even low-level range magic can be fatal.]

[So, unlike you, we’re saying we won’t get hit. We can kill them before we’re attacked, and if they do, we can recover with the healing magic of a priest.]

What would you do if the priest was killed?

It’s true that the easiest to replace is the priest, but the defense is a lot worse than the paladin, right?

I intended to explain in an easy-to-understand manner the characteristics of the priests to my friend so he would stop this useless complaining.

[No matter how much you explain yourself, this is what I’ve decided as the leader and hero of the party. Elise has agreed that this party doesn’t need a wall like you blocking its progress! ]

The words from Roland did not change.

But is it really true that the two rearguards agree?

Maybe it takes time for the woman to prepare for the morning, Elise and the others haven’t come out yet, only me and Roland.

Therefore, I can’t confirm it now, but I don’t think they agree with this opinion because I was always protecting them.

When I turned my eyes to Roland,

[… I’ve been silent until now, but in fact I and Elise have been lovers for a long time. To be clear, you were in the way from the beginning. Just because you’re a childhood friend, we let you but.. ]

[…]

 He said something unexpected.

Until now, I hadn’t seen such a gesture at all, but did she hide it that well? This surprised me greatly considering Elise had always been an awful liar.

[Okay. If you say that, I’ll go…. But I warned you. You guys have paper defense that relies too much on my defensive skills. I still care about you guys, be careful ? ]

[Noisy. You’ve already been banished from the party. Quickly disappear!]

A party that started with three childhood friends, and in the end only two remained..

  1. Dumb, dumb-dumb-dumb, DUMB!

This party of “heroes” is going to run off to fight a monster, thinking they’re unstoppable, and are going to get stomped.

It’s like “Rising of the Shield Hero” except without the false-rape accusation.

  2. the translation is great and this is only the first chapter but i already like the MC he didn’t grovel or curse them out and at least tried to explain why he’s need it’s their own fault for ignoring him so they can’t blame anyone but themselves.
